Join DragonFly Mass for Crop Over 2013

We’re excited to have this opportunity to introduce the DragonFly Mass Grand Kadooment Band as we present “Mythology” for Crop Over 2013.

DragonFly Mass (DFM) exploded onto the scene in 2012, ushering in the concept of the VIP Street Party on the road for the Crop Over Festival. Within 48 hours of launching our official website (www.dragonflymass.com) and our Facebook page (Dragon Fly Mass Band) in May 2012, the number of viewers exceeded 10,000 drawn from several countries including the USA, Canada, the UK, Trinidad, Antigua, Jamaica, Grenada and, of course, Barbados.

While providing an all-inclusive, premium experience designed to cater to 300 members, DFM garnered Third Place for Flag Person of the Year — an enviable achievement as a new entrant in a highly experienced field of competitors.

“Mythology – We Telling Stories"

Why the theme “Mythology”
Myths of one kind or another have touched virtually every culture in existence, including our own right here in Barbados. Myths have been, and in many cultures continue to be, used to explain how the world came to be. As sacred narratives they have passed from generation to generation and although separate cultures imbue them with different themes and characteristics, there are enough similarities to suggest that human beings are much more alike than we may seem on the surface. We embrace the power of Crop Over to unite people and regard this “togetherness” as a major tenet in the DFM philosophy.
